Once upon a time Dad got together and together with a rest of Kickapoo Group they took their kids and went off Canoeing for 3 days. Here are the details on how we did it.

It's 2.5h drive from Chicago. You drop of your gear at a landing site, and take your car to final destination where you leave it and jump on a bus.
